 The candidate must have passed 10+2 or A Level or IB or American 12th grade or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and         English as Compulsory subjects, along with any one of Chemistry or               Computer Science or Biotechnology or Biology or Statistics or                Engineering Drawing as optional subject for admission to B Tech, with minimum of  50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and the optional subject, put   together.

What Is Lateral Entry In B.Tech? Bachelor of Technology/ B.Tech Lateral Entry (LE) is one of the most sought courses as most of the students have completed their diplomas in engineering and now want to pursue B Tech degree/lateral entry engineering. These students are eligible for lateral entry program which means direct admission in second year. It has been made possible by regulatory bodies as to avoid wastage of time. B Tech first year is similar to what students have learned while doing diploma. So, if anyone who is dreaming of becoming an engineer, and has completed their diploma is eligible for B.Tech lateral entry programs. All India Council of technical education (AICTE) set guidelines and rules for this course.

B.Tech Lateral Entry Courses After Diploma

There are various engineering specialisations (UGC Approved) for which lateral entry (Direct entry into 2nd year) is considered. Lateral entry students can attend regular classes with regular students.

The only difference would be that diploma holders would get direct entry into second year and everything will remain similar like with regular students.
